Hello Parents!
We have had a great (almost) first month of school! I am really proud of how hard your children have been working as we've dived in to fifth grade! This week we'll be reviewing place value and learning how to multiply and divide by powers of ten. Ask your students later in the week about Mr. Dull! We will also be continuing to discuss Constructive and Destructive Forces and reading about the Civil War. We're continuing to read our class novel called Upside Down in the Middle of Nowhere. This novel is a fictional story based on a young girl's experience during Hurricane Katrina. If you have a chance, talk to your students about what parts of the book they like and connections they've made to it.
Dont forget, Wednesday is an Early Release Day! School will dismiss at 12:30. Also, please plan to join us for WIGS on Thursday if you are able. We will be looking at your children's levels in math, setting goals for them, and looking at strategies to help them reach those goals. We will have two sessions on Thursday. The first will be from 6:00 - 6:45 and the second will be from 7:00 - 7:45. We hope to see you there! Have a great week!
